  1. Dear Avid Gamers I am a Gamer myself and I just have a suggestion to not hold your breath for these companies! I got a call from an Erika we agreed on a time for Thursday she was going to call and confirm I heard nothing from her. A friend of mine got a call from her as well she left him a message he called back left her a message and never called back? What kind of BS is this? Since when do Videogame companies play around desperate people such as us? For what ? for 25$? Please! They lack professionalism and honesty here please avoid EA at all costs folks!

  2. I hear you. I used to work at a company (not gaming industry) where one of the three people in HR did shit like this; even to friends who I recommended. His incompetence was mindboggling, and it was a decent company (that didn't deserve that kind of PR - so I justified my complaint). So I got him fired. He wasn't malicious, just borderline retarded (really - he couldn't remember my friend's name when I'd remind him the next day, lost 4 or 5 copies of CVs, etc.). Alot in HR are dumb as posts. It's like they say about teachers: "those who can't..." I'm convinced it applies to most in HR, too. They are mostly of below average intelligence at best and they go for those positions because they figure they are last to get fired in a down economy - which isn't true, they get fired all the time because they're so stupid and don't have any special skill or qualifications.

My suggestion - if it's worth your time. Ask to be put to through to someone else in HR and explain the situation very nicely, in an innocent tone with a subtext of 'hey, maybe Erika got deathly ill or something' and see how they respond. Try to get the person you speak to to see you, if they respond halfway competently/ genuinely apologetically. If they say they will pass the msg on to Erika, then fuck the whole company.

Obviously this is not worth it for just $25 bucks, but keep it in mind for the future. Don't let a moron in HR keep you from a decent sounding position at what may be a generally competent company. Go even higher up if you really want the job. Where there's a will, there's a way... and moron gatekeepers/ HR deserve to be fired on grounds of being a public-facing blackeye for the company.

  3. I made an appointment, showed up, met Erika, and got paid. Took less than half an hour, was a really cool environment. Not sketchy at all.

  4. Hey Everyone,

I went to a play test that was over a short period of time and was overall I would say, a pleasant experience. I would definitely do it again. I setup the appointments and was greeted by Erika. Erika was very lovely to deal with and I had a great time. Looking forward to future play tests in the future. :-)
